One of the rulings that is famously common among jurists and people is the obligation to fast during the month of Ramadan. The basis of this ruling is hadiths, and no argument or reference to the Qur'an has been made for it. This research, at the beginning by examining the hadiths and verses, determines that this ruling is at the level of a jurisprudential reputation and does not have the support of frequency or tzafar or even a plurality of narrations. In this regard, only four direct and indirect narrations have paid attention to this issue. Half of the four traditions in this regard suffer from the weakness of documents and transmission. The remaining two narrations are invalid due to their opposition to the Qur'an. In the Qur'an, since the performance of fasting is restricted to two groups, i.e. the traveler and the sick, and a single report cannot generalize the limitation of the Qur'an, therefore, the obligation of fasting for menstruating women is doubtful.
