Abstract

One of the best ways to avoid making errors in a science is to perceive and understand the basic definitions of that particular science. In Principles, the term “proof” is of prominent importance, so that to find out what the authorities of Principles mean by it is of considerable assistance in understanding Principles and its outcomes. There exists a big controversy surrounding the meaning of the term as no clarification can be found in books or articles.
The present article is intended to demonstrate that the “proof”, in fact, is exactly the same as Monajaziat and Mo’azariat. The first is realized when adequate presuppositions are acquired by wisdom to make a judgment whether to reward or to punish in the wake of an action, and the second happens when making an error, in the case of ignorance; the doer is exonerated from punishment
