Abstract

This article concerns various approaches to the relation of science and religion. There are broadly three conventional approaches. First, there is a positivistic approach to the relation of science and religion, particularly Christianity. Here the view is elaborated with its results criticized as applied to Islam. In the second one, there are some assumptions as to theology and epistemology, followed by a discussion on the relation and proportion of science and religion, with an emphasis on the relation of religion on certain domains of science. Finally, on the basis of the assumptions already worked out in the second approach, the relation of religion with all domains of science is studied
