He is known as a scholar because of his in-depth research, asceticism, and piety; his method of jurisprudence has such outstanding features that it has a special style and school in the periods of jurisprudence. One of his works Majma''ul Faidah Wal Burhan - an explanation to Irshadul Azhan by Allamah Hilli - has been known as an initiative in Imamiyyah jurisprudence. In this important work, he has cited to the Book and Sunnah like his predecessors and referred abundantly to intellect in different meanings, jurisprudential rules, practical principles, absolute intellect, etc.. As it sometimes relies on it to challenge popular theories and proposes some theories about factual incidents based on jurisprudential principles. Using a descriptive-analytical method, this research has analyzed the role and application of rational proof in this book and has come to the conclusion that he has taken a special look at rational proof and relying on it he has challenged some jurisprudential theories that have no support other than fame and has given unique fatwas.  احمد بن محمد، از فقهای صاحب‌سبک قرن دهم هجری است، به‌سبب تحقیقات دقیق و پرهیزکاری، به محقق معروف است؛ روش فقه‌پژوهی او چنان ویژگی‌های برجسته‌ای دارد که مکتب خاصی را در ادوار فقه به خود اختصاص داده است. یکی از آثار وی مجمع الفایده و البرهان، در شرح ارشاد الاذهان علامه حلی است، که به نوآوری در فقه امامیه، شهرت یافته است. او در این اثر مهم، همانند فقیهان سلف به کتاب و سنت استناد کرده و از نهاد عقل به فراوانی در معانی گوناگون، قواعد فقهی، اصول عملی، عقل قطعی و... استناد می‌کند؛ آن‌گونه که گاهی با تکیه بر آن، نظریه‌های مشهور را به چالش می‌کشد و در این روند بر پایۀ اصول فقهی، برای حوادث واقعه، نظریاتی ارائه می‌دهد. این پژوهش با روش تحلیلی- توصیفی به بررسی نقش و کاربرد دلیل عقلی در این کتاب پرداخته و به این نتیجه دست یازیده است که وی به‌دلیل عقلی نگاه خاصی داشته و به استناد برخی از نظریات فقهی را که پشتوانه‌ای جزء شهرت نداشته، به چالش کشیده و فتاوای منحصربه‌فرد داده است. https://jorr.ut.ac.ir/article_75832_f78d975c505ec9cc8575c4c117b926dc.pdf
